Gollum Goes Fishing Art Journal Page

Hi Inky Friends, here today with an art journal page featuring Gollum & fish. I had so much fun making this page! I was inspired by the brick background to use Tim Holtz's crazy cats. From there I thought alley, garbage, graffiti... I had this magazine cut out from a nail polish ad with this fantastic color on a drum and figured that would pass as an artistic garbage can.

The graffiti words are from my computer, colored with distress stain, really like how they turned out. Some subtle spray stencil in the background to make the "alley" more grungy. Finally added Gollum which is a photo of the Weta Workshop figurine found online. I highlighted some of the areas with pen to help them pop. Over all just love this one cause it makes me giggle!! I am entering this in the Simon Says Monday Challenge. Their theme is "Wish" which helped to inspire me with one of my favorite Gollum quotes. In fact I spent a good part of yesterday walking around singing this song & giggling. Ah art.
***UPDATE: Golum was chosen as one of the Designer Spotlight Winners!!!! YAY.
#152 Karen Bearse – Andrea says: Any project that can make Gollum look kind of cute gets my vote! I thought this wishful creation was so out-of-the-box clever with its theme and I love how Karen created an entire scene that tells an interesting story!

SDC 245 Love Sunflowers

Hi Folks, I have a quick post for the Stampotique SDC 245 challenge, my art journal page Love Sunflowers. The challenge this week is circles. I did the flip page of an art journal made out of scrapbook paper as my background. I love the brick print and immediately saw sunflowers on it.

I used Janet Klein's Medium Sunflower and France Papillon's Barcode & text stamps. Also Daniel Torrent's Kitty had to tag along. They were colored in with Distress Markers. Drew some circles with paint and stencil with just a touch of doodle. I am loving adding paint marker dots to everything, not sure why but it is fun! Come join in the Stampotique weekly challenge.

Art Journal Playing With Paint

Today I have a quick post of an art journal page that I was playing with paint on.I was browsing Finnabair's blog & decided to jump in their contest for some inspiration. The challenge was to use a quote that is close to your heart. I totally believe & live by this and include it in my daily life, even if I am doing a chore that I don't particularly like. Put some music on, get a good attitude & go.  I am very happy to say I have had these quote stickers for over 10 years & now they are on a page! Using my stash baby.

Just layering lots of color. I was inspired by Karen Hayselden's dragonfly page. She has done a number of beautiful posts lately using these bright colors. Happy to be making lots of art lately!

Moon Art Journal SDC244

I made this fun moon art journal page for the Stampotique Challenge #244 this week. I love their stamps & the 100 day project is giving me the perfect excuse to play with them.

This page is on the backside of a photo envelope. I simply scrapped gesso on it leaving the teal color show through. Used Dylusions paints through a stencil. This weeks theme is scribbles so I did some mark making in different spots as well as a bit of outlining and dots. The stamp is by Arwen called Skull Moon. Love it!

Bicycle Chipboard Album Cover

Here is a fun bicycle chipboard album cover I made recently. Life gets so busy for my family in the spring. We have lacrosse, swim and theater. My husband & I are both coaches and he is also a ref. I tend to get a tad behind with life at this time. I did a post up on the Southern Ridge Trading Company blog a few days ago. I am playing with an album cover or art journal page haven't decided yet. You can check the mini tutorial here.

It is super shiny and has lots of glimmer in real life. Lots of Tattered Angels on this one. Go check out all the fun chipboard pieces this family owned company has.

Sunshine Sunny Day Tag

Hello blog land I am here with a tag called sunshine sunny day! I am currently participating in #the100dayproject. It is about arting every day and I have mainly been posting on Instagram. I will do some wrap up blog posts here in a bit. I am also entering this tag in the Simon Says Monday Challenge. Just for fun. I just received an order from them with their stamps. These stamps have been haunting me for awhile. Buy me, buy me they chant. So I finally did. I must say I am very pleased with the quality, they stamp very well. OK so here is my tag.

The challenge this week was to emboss in some way. The sun and quote are both heat embossed. Yay love me some art!
